Qcountry 92.7 talked to country singer ReaLynn Thursday ahead of LakeFest 2016.
“I wrote ‘God Made Girls’ with a couple of my friends,” ReaLynn said. “We all got in a room together and we started talking about all the things that boys couldn’t do without girls and you get four independent women talking about that and you’re going to write a song like ‘God Made Girls’ and we wrote it fast. We wrote it in like an hour and a half.”
ReaLynn and Frankie Ballard will preform with headliner Tyler Farr Friday, July 15th at Warnock Lake.
“I have a new single coming out. It’s a song I actually wrote when I was 17 or 18,” ReaLynn said. “I wrote this song called ‘Love Triangle’…When a song still stands out to you four years later you know it’s a special song. I wrote this song about being a kid stuck in-between my parents. My parents got a divorce when I was 3-years-old I was always that kid relaying information back and forth and always walking on eggshells not knowing what to say.”
LakeFest is the kick-off for the annual Amelia Earhart Festival in Atchison. The Atchison Chamber said the festival also includes a downtown fair, education and research events, children’s events, and a fireworks show on the banks of the Missouri River drawing in tens of thousands of visitors every year.
