Dense Fog Advisory in effect until 10 a.m.

weather-1-20Widespread dense fog has taken over the area this morning, significantly reducing visibility and could impact the morning commute. As such, a Dense Fog Advisory is in effect through 10 a.m. this morning. The fog is anticipated to lift/clear out by midday, although cloudy skies and perhaps drizzle/light rain will persist. Temperatures will remain above normal for mid-January, with highs ranging in the 40s to 50s. Here’s the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service: 

Today: Patchy drizzle before 11 a.m., then a slight chance of rain or drizzle after 1 p.m. Widespread dense fog, mainly before 11 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 48. Light east northeast wind becoming east southeast 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: A slight chance of rain before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. East southeast wind around 7 mph becoming south southwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 52. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 31. Calm wind becoming north northwest around 5 mph after midnight.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 45. Northwest wind 6 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 28.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 47.

Tuesday: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 50. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
