Chance of rain and snow today

weather-1-25Light snow will be possible today north of a St. Joseph to Moberly line with minor accumulations between a trace to half an inch. Snow will begin this morning and will continue through the day before exiting the area by Midnight tonight. Some slick roads may be possible. Highs across northern Missouri will be in the low to mid 30s, with highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s across central Missouri, eastern Kansas, and the KC Metro. Here’s the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service: 

Today: A slight chance of rain and snow showers before 10 a.m., then a slight chance of snow showers between 10 a.m. and noon, then a slight chance of sprinkles and flurries after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 36. Breezy, with a west northwest wind 13 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: A slight chance of snow before 10 p.m., then a slight chance of flurries between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 26. Northwest wind 11 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. Northwest wind 11 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 22. West northwest wind 6 to 10 mph.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 37. West northwest wind 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 25.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 39.
