Temperatures will drop throughout the week

weather-1-31Typically, in northwest Missouri, when it’s 60 degrees in January there is nowhere for the temperatures to go but down. That will be the case heading through the middle of the work week. The drop in temperatures however will be gradual. Highs today will still be well above normal with highs in the lower 50s. However, by the time we reach Thursday and Friday temperatures will drop a bit below normal with highs in the low to mid 30s. Here’s the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service: 

Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 51. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29. North wind 5 to 9 mph.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 39. North wind 7 to 10 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21. North wind around 8 mph.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 32. North wind 6 to 8 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 34.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22.

Saturday: A chance of rain and snow after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday Night: A chance of rain and snow before 10 p.m., then a chance of snow between 10 p.m. and midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 42.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 26.
