A Savannah man pleaded guilty to a reduced charge in the shooting death of his wife.

Prosecutors dismissed a string of charges including alternative counts of first and second-degree murder against Jay Bowman. In return he pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

Circuit Judge Patrick Robb sentenced Bowman to seven years in prison.

The charges stem from the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Stephanie Bradberry on New Year’s Day in 2016 at the Amazonia Ball Park.
