Ordering a cup of coffee Friday can help support local breast cancer programs.

The Human Bean in St. Joseph is holding their annual ‘Coffee for a Cure’ fundraiser with all sales and tips from the day going to the Mosaic Life Care Auxiliary’s Breast Cancer Patient Assistance Fund.

According to a press release from Mosaic, last year, the fundraiser raised nearly $7,000 for the Assistance Fund, which was matched by the Auxiliary. The Fund provides mammograms, education and post-diagnosis support for breast cancer patients. It also aids those who need financial help while undergoing breast cancer treatment.

Guest baristas working shifts throughout the day will include Bobby Bearcat from Northwest Missouri State University, St. Joseph Mayor Bill McMurray, KC Wolf from the Kansas City Chiefs, Missouri Western State University President Matt Wilson and Missouri Army National Guardsmen.

The Human Bean is open until 9 p.m. Friday and is located at 4414 Commons Drive.
