Authorities are searching a rural area in western Nodaway County for a possible connection to a Skidmore man who disappeared more than 20 years ago.

Nodaway County officials say law enforcement is searching near the small town of Quitman.

What law enforcement is looking for remains unclear. However, officials say officers received a “credible tip” that might lead to more information regarding Branson Perry, who mysteriously disappeared in April 2001.

The Nodaway County Sheriff’s Office has never closed this case. Perry was only 20 years old when he mysteriously disappeared after walking out of his house in Skidmore.

We’ll provide updates to this story as they become available.
