ATCHISON COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 6:30p.m. Saturday in Atchison.
A 2004 Chrysler van driven by Jeanie McHaley, 53, Atchison, was westbound in the 800 Block of U.S. 59, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson. A 2011 Chevy Traverse driven by Lawrence Miller, Jr. 54, Huron rear-ended the van as McHaley was turning left turn into a parking lot.
After impact the van struck a tree on the south side of the highway. EMS treated McHaley at the scene and she was subsequently transported by private vehicle to Amberwell Hospital for treatment of injuries. Miller was not injured.
