Atchison leaders have approved the next step in building a new overlook platform at Guerrier Hill Park. The project, funded by a grant, will feature a 20 by 30-foot platform with scenic views of downtown Atchison and the Missouri-side floodplain. The City had to scale down the design and use a metal fabrication company to stay within budget. The total cost is expected to be around $110,000, with the City handling some of the installation work. The City plans to update signage and website information to promote Guerrier Hill as its own park.
