‘Time Matters’: Support Grows for Purple Alert to Locate Missing Children and Adults

A group of advocates testified in front of the Missouri Children and Families House Committee in support of HB 1840, a bill proposing the creation of a Purple Alert system to help find missing individuals with developmental disabilities. Testimonies from supporters highlighted the urgent need for such a system, citing personal experiences of missing loved ones with disabilities. The bill, sponsored by Missouri Rep. Sherri Gallick, is moving through the legislative process with hopes of quick approval to provide better protection for vulnerable individuals. The proposed Purple Alert system aims to address the critical issue of locating missing children and adults with special needs in a timely manner.
