Hiawatha City Commissioner Brian Shefferd has filed for the position of Mayor, challenging incumbent Becky Shamburg. Shefferd previously ran against Shamburg in 2022. Additionally, the Commissioner of Seat One, currently held by David Middendorf, is up for election, with Mitch Bruning filing for that seat. Other positions up for election in Brown County include 1st District County Commissioner and Register of Deeds. The primary election is scheduled for August 4th, with the general election on November 3rd.
