FEMA has allocated over $400 million in funding to support recovery efforts for past disasters in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. The funding will be used for Public Assistance projects such as debris removal, emergency protective measures, and repairing public infrastructure damaged by recent disasters. This allocation is part of a larger $1.2 billion funding announcement for over 200 Public Assistance projects nationwide. Despite the current lapse in appropriations, FEMA is working to address the backlog of funding requests and support states in their recovery efforts. FEMA will continue to collaborate with the Midwest states to facilitate the state-led recovery process.
